Vernon Central - 2008 Fire Prevention

OCTOBER 2008 Crews from Vernon Central and Vernon Township Fire
Departments provided fire prevention programs to the students of West End
Elementary. Personnel arrived October 6th with videos, bags full of information and
fun and the Crawford County Fire Safety House. Also on hand was apparatus from
the departments for students to get an up close and personal look at. Fire
personnel spoke to all grades and provided question and answer sessions. One of
the highlights of the day was a fly in by Stat Medevac helicopter. Around 700
children were taught about fire safety this year at the school. Thanks to the faculty
for their assistance in helping make out program a success. And special thanks to
Tom Hornstein, who's been heading up our fire prevention operation for several
years.
