SEPTEMBER 2009 Personnel have assisted three area department on recent structure fires. Starting
with a house fire on the east side of Conneaut Lake, Vernon Central crews responded to help with fire
suppression on the two alarm fire the afternoon of August 27th. Another house fire in Saegertown sent
VC firefighters to aid with a Rapid Intervention Team the first week of September. And VC responded to a
restaurant fire in Hadley, Mercer County with a RIT crew the weekend of September 5th. Vernon Central
was the third RIT crew dispatched to the stubborn fire on US Hwy 19 near Sheakleyville.
